CAC bared its fangs; busts fake companies cartel in Abuja

The Corporate Affairs Commission(CAC) is living up to the billing to sanitize the operations of entities in the efforts to achieve a transparent business environment in Nigeria.

The Registrar General,Hussaini Ishaq Magaji SAN,yesterday, during his maiden media parley,revealed that the Commission had successfully busted fake companies cartel in Abuja.

According to the Registrar General,the Commission received a request from the Federal Capital Territory administration for verification of some companies that made application for land.

He said, after a diligent search,it was discovered that the entities involved were fake.

Magaji disclosed that upon investigation, it was discovered that a lawyer had posed to be an accredited Agent Of Corporate Affairs Commission and in concert with some fraudulent persons in Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) maneuvered their way and achieved priority applications over the existing ones to secure land allocation.

The Registrar General alleged that about one hundred and eighty nine(189) fake companies were involved and have been in this “nefarious business for a long time”

According to Magaji investigations are ongoing and those arrested were already giving useful information to the security Agencies.

He gave an assurance that he would remain committed to sustaining the reputation of the Corporate Affairs Commission as a world class registry.

Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN is one of the appointees Of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR in the new leadership across the Industry, Trade and Investment Sector.
