The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said it has restored power to the 330 Kilo Volt (kV) transmission stations across the country.

Recall, the TCN confirmed the collapse of the national grid which led to power outage in some parts of the country.

The grid had collapsed on Wednesday being the second time it will be collapsing since February this year.

However, the Transmission Company assured that efforts are ongoing to restore power supply across the country following the collapse of the National grid.

The Kaduna Electric, which serves Kaduna, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi States, as well as the Eko Electricity confirmed the power outage in messages sent to their customers.

Ndidi Mbah, General Manager Public Affairs, TCN also announced that TCN had  commenced grid recovery immediately after the collapse, from Shiroro Generating Station to Katampe TS, Abuja through the Shiroro – Katampe line, and also through Delta Generating Station to Benin Transmission Substation and has reached Osogbo and parts of Lagos.

Mbah said that the TCNs 330kV substations feed 132kV substations, through which Distribution Companies off-take electricity they deliver to electricity consumers nationwide.

“While the grid restoration and power restoration gradually progress to other parts of the country, the cause of voltage collapse that precipitated this failure is equally being investigated,” she said.
