I will work for Nigeria’s Integration into Africa Market- Awolowo

Executive Secretary, National Action Committee on African Continental Free Trade Area,Mr Olusegun Awolowo during his visit to His Excellency, Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON.

The Executive Secretary of the National Action Committee on African Continental Free Trade Area(AfCFTA) Mr Olusegun Awolowo has made a commitment  to continue working  with the Vice President and the new  administration to drive Nigeria’s successful integration into the African market and contribute to the realization of the shared vision of a prosperous and united Africa.

This is contained in his social media account of his visit to His Excellency Vice President Kashim Shettima to congratulate him on his successful election and inauguration

Awolowo quoted  Vice-president  President Shettima  as saying  that  AfCFTA will enable Nigeria to harness the vast opportunities available and strengthen our position as a key player in the African market

The social media post read:

”As the Executive Secretary of the National Action Committee on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), I wanted to personally congratulate the Vice President on the successful election and inauguration and also share my thoughts with him on the potential of the AfCFTA for our great nation

”During our meeting, we briefly discussed the potentials of and opportunities presented by the AfCFTA, I highlighted the significance of this landmark agreement in promoting intra-African trade, fostering economic growth, and uplifting the lives of millions across the continent.

”We discussed the importance of aligning our national strategies with the goals and objectives of the AfCFTA. I emphasized the need for comprehensive policies and frameworks to facilitate the seamless flow of goods, services, and investments within Africa. We also explored the potential for leveraging technology and digital platforms to enhance trade facilitation, reduce barriers, and promote inclusivity among businesses of all sizes.

”The Vice President expressed his commitment to ensuring Nigeria’s active participation and leadership in the AfCFTA, enabling our nation to harness the vast opportunities available and strengthen our position as a key player in the African market.

”I am grateful for the Vice President’s receptiveness and enthusiasm for the AfCFTA. Our meeting affirmed my belief that Nigeria is on the right path to harnessing the transformative power of this continental agreement. I am excited to continue working  with the Vice President and the new  administration to drive Nigeria’s successful integration into the African market and contribute to the realization of the shared vision of a prosperous and united Africa,” Awolowo
