Faithful Implementation of CAMA 2020 Yielding Fruits in the Economy:Two million Businesses Registered- RG,CAC




The Registrar-General Of Corporate Affairs Commission,Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, has revealed that the implementation of the provisions of Companies and Allied Matters Act(2020)has started to yield fruits for the nation’s economy.

Hussaini Magaji, SAN, said this when he led the management of Moniepoint Microfinance on a visit to the Hon. Minister, Federal Ministry Of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite recently.

According to the Registrar General,as a result of his Commission’s efforts to ensure compliance by entities, about two million companies have been registered within four months .

Hussaini Ishaq Magaji SAN, explained that this feat was achieved through collaboration with the management of Moniepoint Microfinance Bank under its “Trade In Your Business Name Scheme “.

The Registrar General announced that by the registration of the two million companies, an estimated sum of N20million Naira have been injected into the nation’s economy.

Speaking earlier, Managing Director, Moniepoint, Babatunde Olofin projected that about thirty million companies would be registered under the Scheme in the next five years.

According to the Managing Director, about 600,000 jobs have so far been created through the bank’s initiative in collaboration with Corporate Affairs Commission.

Responding, Hon.Minister, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite commended Moniepoint for its initiative and the resourceful ness of the management of Corporate Affairs Commission and noted that what the Microfinance did was pointer to the limitless possibilities in the use of information technology in business enterprise.

The Hon. Minister assured that consistent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu resolve to create jobs and banish poverty from the country,everything would be done to help Moniepoint and indeed all private sector enterprises experience a conducive and supportive business environment to thrive.
