Ebuka Daniel

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has called on the State and Local Governments in the country not to allow themselves to be deceived by individual or group of people who go round the States and Local Government Areas of the Country with the claim of being official representatives of the Commission, while promising that they could increase their Revenue Allocation at a negotiated percentage.

The Chairman of the Commission Engr. Elias Mbam stated this in Abuja recently while addressing newsmen on the progress of the Commission’s review of the existing Revenue Allocation Formula (RAF), He emphasized that revenue allocation to States and Local Government Areas is based on subsisting law and cannot be changed or increased by anybody.

He added that those who do so are criminals and should be treated as such.

Engr Mbam disclosed that the Commission is currently carrying out a nationwide sensitization and advocacy meetings with various stakeholders on the RAF review exercise.

Mbam therefore advised the States and Local Governments not to carry out any business with any person claiming to be representing the Commission in any form without a written and confirmed letter personally signed by the Chairman of the Commission.
