WTO:Amb.Adamu thanks members of Goods Council for reaching Consensus.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to World Trade Organization, Ambassador(Dr.)Adamu Mohammed has thanked members of Goods Council for their collaboration and flexibility in reaching consensus on the 2023 chairs of the subsidiary bodies of the council.

Ambassador Adamu is the chair of the Goods Council.

It will be recalled that World Trade Organization members reached consensus on 5 June on a slate of names of the chairpersons for the 14 subsidiary bodies that report to the Council for Trade in Goods.

The Council for Trade in Goods is one of the four major bodies that report directly to the General Council Of the World Trade Organization .

It is the forum for discussing issues and decisions which may ultimately require the attention of the General Council for resolution or a higher-level discussion, and for putting issues in a broader context of the rules and disciplines that apply to trade  in goods.

Ambassador(Dr.) Adamu Abdulhamid Mohammed was appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to World Trade Organization by former President Muhammadu Buhari In 2021.

Until his appointment, Ambassador Adamu was the Acting Head, Charge’ d’Affaires Of Nigeria Office to the WTO, Geneva, Switzerland.
