
The Federal government of Nigeria is determined to make the creative industry a major contributor to the nation’s gross domestic product (GDP)

Speaking at a workshop on revalidating Nigeria’s Intellectual Property Policy and Strategy, the Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, yesterday announced that her ministry was committed to protecting “our innovators and creators “.
The workshop was organized by Federal Ministry of Art, Culture and Creative Economy in collaboration with Federal Ministry of Industry,Trade and Investment.’
She disclosed that Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and investment was working on the following:

.Updating our IP laws to meet global standards
.Boosting protection for Nollywood, music, tech, and more
.Attracting foreign investment through strong IP rights
.Unlocking Nigeria’s full creative and economic potential
