China’s ZTE Corporation, which specializes in providing telecommunications solutions, enterprise and consumer technologies for mobile Internet, has just launched its first 5G wireless router.
The technology was introduced to the South African market in collaboration with the telecom operator, MTN.
“We are confident that we have built a strong foundation to grow and support our 5G ecosystem. Partnering with ZTE on 5G devices is an integral part in delivering an exceptional experience for our customers,” said Mapula Bodibe (pictured), MTN SA Chief Consumer Officer.
ZTE Corporation says its 5G wireless router supports the latest Wi-Fi 6 access technology, allowing multiple users to access the 5G network at the same time. In short, this device will enable customers to access 5G in all areas covered by South Africa’s ultra-high-speed network. For high network quality, the ZTE “Smart ANT” algorithm will allow the wireless router to independently select better signals to offer to consumers.
Presenting the company as always at the forefront of 5G commercialization, Bob Zhou, director of the mobile division at ZTE Corporation South Africa, said that, “ZTE will provide consumers with a series of diversified 5G terminal devices, including the 5G Smartphone, 5G Indoor Router, 5G Outdoor Router, 5G Mobile Wi-Fi Router, 5G Ethernet Box and 5G Module. Our key objective is to empower the near-future connected life and accelerate digital transformation.”
