Mr Suleiman Adebayo Audu, Director,Trade in the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has been honoured with a Meritorious Award of Excellence by the management of the Ministry.
Described as hardworking, humble and amiable, Mr Adebayo received the award as part of the efforts of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry to encourage the staff to be diligent and aspire to excellence in the discharge of their duties.
Baba Gana Alkali, Director, Policy Planning Research and Statistics of the Ministry who conferred the award on Audu on behalf Permanent secretary,Dr Evelyn Ngige, admonished the staff of the Ministry to emulate the worthy example of Adebayo Audu.
Adebayo Audu is a skillful Trade Negotiator with extensive experience in multi lateral trade negotiation.He has been involved in Trade Policy formulation and implementation including institutional framework.
He has undertaken several Professional trainings and courses on International trade and specifically WTO related matters
Adebayo’s areas of expertise include Trade facilitation, E- Commerce, Development issues, services,Trade , environment and Agriculture
He has demonstrable skills in Public Policy, Trade Policy, analysis and negotiation .
Mr Suleiman Adebayo Audu is undoubtedly a versatile civil servant having served in varied capacities.He served in Nigeria Trade Office to the WTO( Geneva, Switzerland)where he coordinated Nigeria’s participation in WTO Ministerial conferences between 2004 and 2019
Among several committees that Adebayo served in the course of his career was the 2019 membership of the National Action Committee for the Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement.
Adebayo also served as member of the Board of Nigerian Export Promotion Council and Nigeria Custom Service to mention a few .
Digital Director as he is fondly called by his peers, Adebayo Audu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science of the University of Lagos and Bachelor of Law degree of University of Abuja.He is happily married with children.
