Rep Akiba offers free medical outreach, distributes farm inputs to constituents


The parliamentarian representing Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency, Rep. Bassey Akiba, has offered free medical outreach to his constituents in his determination to attend to the health needs of the people that elected him to be their representative in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

The services rendered to the large numbers of constituents who turned out to take advantage of the opportunity provided by Rep Akiba in the free medical outreach which took place at the Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Calabar, included surgeries, diagnostic tests, eye care, free eyeglasses, administering of drugs, treatment, consultations among others.

The Rep Akiba Free Medical Outreach in  Calabar lasted from November 8 to 15, 2024. A second phase of the medical outreach programme of Rep Akiba, a grassroots politician believed to be committed to wellbeing of his constituents, will take place from the 25th to 29th of November, 2024 at Women and Children Hospital, Okurikang Okoyong, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State.

In a related development, Rep Akiba, who is the Deputy Chairman of House Committee on Healthcare Services, distributed farm inputs including fertilizers and good quality maize seeds to his constituents that are farmers in a bid to enhance agricultural productivity and boost food sufficiency in the constituency. 

The distribution of the farm inputs was done at the Eburutu Barracks in Calabar where the farmers came out in their numbers to receive the fertilizers and maize seeds with great excitement and joy.

The farmers, mainly women, thanked the federal lawmaker for the kind gesture and remarkable efforts towards providing better livelihood for them.
