Nigeria’s Anti-Corruption Agency’s Boss, Magu Recommended for Suspension

The embattled acting Chairman of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ibrahim Magu has been reportedly recommended for suspension from the office over allegations of inconsistency and insubordination.

Magu, who has been grilled since yesterday by the presidential panel, may lose his job following weighty allegations of corruption hanging on his neck.

The Commerce Africa reports that no official statement has been issued, recommending Magu’s suspension though a source confided in the media that “he was also asked to step aside due to his inability to defend most of the questions put to him on Monday and to allow uninterrupted investigation by the Justice Ayo Salami led Investigative Committee.”

If it turns out to be true officially, the EFCC’s Director of Operations is expected to act in that capacity pending further directives by President Muhammadu Buhari.
