Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA) has granted approval for the establishment of power plant within the Liberty Oil and Gas Free Zone, Akwa Ibom State.
This was disclosed during an Investment meeting led by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Of Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority, Bamanga Usman Jada in the company of a team of 3W Alliance Limited to the Office Of Hon. Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Hon.Ekeprike Ekpo, yesterday.
In a statement issued by Golda Ukomadu, Head, Corporate Communications, OGFZA, 3W Alliance is in partnership with China Power.
Speaking at the meeting, Bamanga Usman Jada said”this project would expand our national grid, improve electricity supply to our investors and to the state as well.It will also increase revenue generation for the state as well as the Federal Government and employment for the teeming youths”.
Jada further disclosed that the pilot Scheme seeks to utilize the abundant gas resources in Akwa Ibom to power the industrial park in Ikot Abasi, adding that uninterrupted gas supply was required to fire the power plants and keep the parks running.
The OGFZA helmsman commended the Hon. Minister of State Petroleum, Hon. Ekeprikpe Ekpo for championing President Tinubu’s Gas policies which according to him was already yielding results in terms of revenue to the country among other benefits.
He also gave an assurance of the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite to provide the enabling environment for businesses to thrive in Nigeria.
Jada seized the opportunity to reaffirm his Authority’s commitment to provide the necessary support to prospective investors in the nation’s oil and Gas Free Zones.
In his remarks, the Hon. Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas),commended the management of OGFZA for providing space and support for the investors and pledged his Ministry’s commitment to provide all necessary support to ensure success of the laudable projects of the Authority.
