
The Inspection Team from the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has described the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State, North-West Nigeria as one equiped with modern facilities in the country.
Team leader and Ministry’s Director of Finance, Sanusi Gwandu said this while on inspection tour of the airport in Birnin Kebbi. He said the Kebbi State Airport was one of the five airports to be handled over to the Federal Government after the team recommendation.
The Kebbi State International Airport is among the five airports approved by the Executive Council of the Federation for handover and refund by the Ministry. The others are those in Bayelsa, Bauchi, Gombe and Nasarawa States.
Speaking shortly after the inspection, the Kebbi State Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Abdullahi Umar Farouk Muslim thanked the Aviation delegation for their warmth recommendations and assured them of the State Government’s commitment towards safeguarding the airports.
