CAC PARTNERS INDIAN PROFESSIONALS AND BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO ENHANCE COMPANY REGISTRATION

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) is exploring partnerships with a select group of Indian professionals and Business community to enhance its operations.

In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Commission,the Registrar-General/CEO,Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, revealed this today during a meeting with the Indian business community and professionals who were part of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Nigeria earlier this week.

The Registrar-General who received the delegation led by Rekha Sharma in his office said the visit would afford the Commission the opportunity to
explore areas aimed at strengthening its processes and making them more seamless.

While speaking on the operations of the Commission, the CAC Boss said the Commission was in custody of over seven million registered businesses.

He therefore enjoined them to offer useful suggestions that would enhance business registration in Nigeria.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Rekha Sharma, underscored the importance of the CAC as the first point of call to commence  business in Nigeria.

Sharma therefore stressed that Indian businesses were the second largest employers of labour in Nigeria with N7 billion investment and over N200 billion potential.

In his remarks, Mr. Rahi, Financial Secretary, Nigeria-India Business Council, noted that the visit was timely as it will afford them the opportunity to study business formation and regulation in Nigeria.

Rahi, who is a Compress Natural Gas CNG conversion investor, called for greater collaboration with the CAC to fast-track business formation as regards Indian investors in Nigeria.

It will be recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had on November 17, 2024, hosted the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a state visit and conferred on him Nigeria’s second highest national honour, Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

CAC News reports that the visit was attended by Mr. Dotun Israel, MD/CEO of Diplomatic Vista Ltd., and CAC Staff, which include Mr. Duke Ukaga (Director Incorporated Trustees), Mr. Godwin Ononokpono (Director Registry), Amina Fika (Director Business Names), Mr. Dominic Inyang (Head Public Affairs), Fatima Elayo (DD Customer Service) ,Chinwe Okolo AD(Record Management Department) and Moses U.E of Public Affairs Unit.
