
The Registrar-General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN has solicited Stakeholders support for its deployment of Artificial
Intelligence on the Companies Registration Portal (Intelligent CRP 3.0).

Hussaini Ishaq Magaji who stated this at a Stakeholders Forum yesterday in Lagos said their support was critical to ensuring proper implementation for the overall benefit of the country.
Represented by Mr. Justine Nidiya Biraol Special Adviser to the Registrar-General, Magaji explained that the deployment would begin with a pilot project to cover availability or name search, registration of business names and a host of other pre-incorporation services.
He further revealed plans to deploy additional Value-Added Services (VAS), customised services designed to meet the specific needs of various stakeholder segments.

Magaji stressed that Under the VAS, organisations with robust APIs will be licensed to extract data or information in formats beyond the standard options currently available.
He spoke on the Commission’s challenges which include Cost of maintenance of software, Cost or renewal of Licenses, Cost of information security and firewalls, Cost of hosting and Cost of data replication and disaster recovery plans among others.

He therefore maintained that it was necessary to review upward the Commission’s fees to sustain its operations and perform optimally.
In her remarks Mrs. Ozofu Latunde Ogiemudia, Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) applauded what she called CAC’s proactive engagement and timely resolution of customer complaints during joint clinics.
Also commenting, Efosa Ewere, Chairperson of the Lagos State Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) expressed support to the CAC’s deployment of AI to improve its operations.

Other speakers include Femi Mosaku-Johnson of the Association of Corporate Governance Professionals of Nigeria (ACGPN), Ajibola Oduwole of NBA Ikeja and Uchenna Akingbade of NBA Lagos among others.
The CAC is expected to hold similar forum soon in Portharcourt, Rivers State.
