The Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Amb. Mariam Katagum, has slumped during an official event in Bauchi State on Monday.
Katagum, who was in Bauchi to launch an empowerment programme at the Sani Mallam Shopping plaza located along the Ahmadu Bello Way, Bauchi, was said to have suddenly collapsed as she tried to deliver her speech.
It was learnt that she was immediately rushed to the Trauma Centre of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital for medical attention.
As of the time of filing this report, she was said to still be at the trauma centre of ATBUTH where she is receiving medical attention with the Deputy Governor monitoring the situation.
It was gathered that officials of the Ministry as well as those of the State government were seen monitoring the situation.
She was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari on July 23, 2019 as Minister of State, Industry, Trade and Investment.
