Air Peace has said that an aircraft belonging to Max Air rammed into its aircraft while taxing at the runway.
The incident, according to Airpeace, occured while passengers were being boarded from Benin Airport to Abuja.
But the airline said there was no casualty from the incident which occurred at 2pm on Saturday.
The airline disclosed this in a statement.
The incident is coming few days after Air Peace reassured its customers of a better service as its planes would arrive this December.
In November this year, the airline suffered a bird strike which affected the engine of its aircraft from Owerri to Lagos.
Air Peace said it had no option other than to withdraw the aircraft from active service.
With Saturday’s incident, the airline may have lost two aircraft in less than a month.
Air Peace said, “The management of Air Peace hereby notifies the general public that an incident occurred today around 14:00hrs at the Benin Airport, Edo State, when a taxing Max Air aircraft 5N-ADB rammed its right wing onto our parked aircraft, 5N-BUQ, which was boarding our Abuja bound passengers at the time the incident occurred.
“The hit damaged the left elevator of our aircraft thereby rendering the aircraft grounded and unserviceable.
“Passengers on-board the Air Peace aircraft were disembarked and another aircraft deployed to operate the flight.
“We sincerely apologise to all the passengers this situation would likely affect today for any inconvenience caused the, as a result.”
The airline has experience multiple disruptions and flight cancellations at the detriment of passengers.
The airline had said that 21 of its aircraft were stuck in maintenance for a long time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
